The Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge is a free statewide competition designed for players to demonstrate the most basic soccer skill – the penalty kick. Open to all boys and girls in our area, ages 10-14, where each player is allowed 15 shots at the goal from the penalty line (12 yards from the goal). Winners progress to the district, regional, state and international levels. The 2011 soccer challenge will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, September 17 at the Huntley Park District Rec Center, 12015 Mill Street, in Huntley. Register at the competition. Proof of age is required -- copy of a birth certificate or similar document is necessary to advance to district, regional and state levels. Winners of the Huntley competition will advance to the district competition in October. If you would like to volunteer, or for more information, email Guy DeMaertelaere at advocate@huntleyknights.org or call 847-712-0444. Visit the Illinois Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge website |
